Cauliflower care home killing

 In 2020, a retired school caretaker died after choking on cauliflower at a care home in north London. The coroner ruled that the death was caused by neglect. 

• The victim, Cristofaro Priolo, was 80 years old and had Alzheimer's.
• His care plan stated that he should only be fed soft foods.
• Paramedics found five pieces of cauliflower in his mouth, ranging in size from 2–5 cm.
