Lemonade stands down
The Harper case (1978): In Nebraska, Steven Roy Harper was convicted for intentionally poisoning #lemonade and #milk with dimethylnitrosamine. The act led to the deaths of his stepson and his wife's 11-month-old nephew.
Florida poisoning (2021): A Florida woman was arrested after admitting to putting a psychiatric drug in her boyfriend's lemonade to "shut him up." She claimed she gave him just enough to make him drowsy and then called authorities so he wouldn't die.
California poisoning (2022): An Orange County dermatologist was accused of pouring Drano into her husband's lemonade on multiple occasions, in an alleged attempt to poison him. The husband installed nanny cameras after noticing a chemical taste in his drinks.
Fatal crash (2025): In North Carolina, a woman was charged after her car crashed into a roadside lemonade stand, critically injuring three girls.
Violent assault (2025): One woman reportedly attacked a rival lemonade stand runner in Revere, Massachusetts, destroying their stand and smacking a girl across the face.
