CONFESSIONS OF A PRISON COOK: A FUSION OF FOOD & CRIME

  While "Our Man Flint" (a fictional work that spoofs James Bond) features a dart with bouillabaisse scent as a clue, there are no widespread or notable real-world criminal cases where someone intentionally poisoned another person's bouillabaisse. However, there are instances of people getting food poisoning from bouillabaisse due to improper handling of ingredients, particularly seafood. Seafood is often over-harvested illegally, as well.  Famed for  bouillabaisse  and crime, Marseille is a glittering jewel on the southern coast of France!  Marseille, it seemed every restaurant had a billboard out advertising their “signature”bouillabaisse dish. Originally, Marseille fishermen made this stew using the rockfish that they were unable to sell at the market.

In Robert Graves' classic book,  I, Claudius , Emperor Augustus believes his  wife, Livia, is trying to poison him,  and chooses a diet of only personally  hand picked #figs  from a palace tree.
